Maths DLO
For the past term Te Ngahere have been learning about different kinds of strategies such as equal additions, rounding and compensating as well as jumping the number line. Using these three strategies we had to find out which one was easier to use to subtract and add decimals. At first it was a bit hard because I’m use to using place value to solve these problems, but after working with the other strategies it became easier. We then had to create a DLO about the three strategies that we had learnt and how to use them with a decimal equation. In the end I found out that for me equal additions was a better way to solve decimal problems and I enjoyed learning new strategies and hope to learn a lot more in the future.
