STEAM (Newspaper structure)

On Monday the whole class participated in a STEAM project. STEAM stands for Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics. We got into groups of three or two. Each group had to create a structure using only 30 cm of tape and 2 sheets of newspaper. My group’s structure didn’t work as we expected. It was time for measuring and one of my mates took our tower up for measuring. He kept trying to balance it but it just kept falling, we didn't end up getting any results for our tower because it couldn't balance that good. After all of that we had to write our reflection of how we did and answer a couple of questions. Each question was to be filled in with a proper sentence giving a reasonable answer. I enjoyed this particular project and enjoyed collaborating well with my group to create a structure that we were proud of. I learnt that newspaper is too flimsy to use as a base for a newspaper tower and I now know that I need to make something stronger than newspaper to hold up a paper tower.
